Brightening Up Dark Spots on Dark Skin

I’ve always had dark underarms and I’ve felt self conscious about it. I started experimenting with natural ingredients to brighten up my underarms.

I tried to do lemon sugar scrubs, lemon juice, and lemon by itself. It brightened it up quite a bit but after awhile it stopped working.

I decided to do a little research online, and I searched for natural products that brighten dark spots.  Most of the creams had bleaching agents in them but I didn’t give up.

After several days of searching I finally found a product. Palmer’s Skin Success Complexion Bar would soon be the answers to my prayers.

I love the fact that it is for all skin types, sulfate, paraben free, and it contains natural pigment-perfecting ingredients.

After using this bar for over 4 days, I could see a huge difference. My dark spots under my arms were almost completely gone.

You can visually see how the complexion bar brightened my underarms here: https://youtu.be/DvmdJ62lZwM

How “Rice Water” changed my hair forever

Rice Water has been used for centuries in other countries to promote hair growth, better skin, and a healthy body.

(Resource- Asia Times)

Particularly amongst Yao women. They’re known for their long hair which has only been cut once in their lifetime. They attribute their growth to using rice water. Studies have shown that using rice water does increase your hair growth, repair it, strengthen, add shine, improve scalp conditions, and more. However, their isn’t any scientific proof.

I decided to try it for myself and see if my hair would change for the better. My first impression of using it was okay. With anything it takes time to see results. I was basically figuring out how to mix it, what rice to use, and the proper amount to use on my hair.

(Check out my first impressions video🔀https://youtu.be/I4JltAF-yEs)

The second month I really started to see and feel changes with my hair. It was softer, stronger, thicker, and it was grew in places that I never thought it could grow.

(Check this video out to see the difference🔀https://youtu.be/0X9nPIJvrW8)

Since it worked so well on my hair, I wanted to see what it would do to my skin. It tightened my pores, my skin was smoother, removed my bags, and gave me a healthy glow.

(Check this video out🔀https://youtu.be/1UtctjH3oGM)

*If you have acne or any severe skin issues I would recommend doing a patch test before using.

On the third month my hair flourished. I wouldn’t say that it grew any faster but my hair had changed overall. It was longer, my curls were defined, no shedding, and it was thicker. The thickest it has ever been!

(Check out this video🔀https://youtu.be/9w6Zlg2b7Yk)

Overall I think that this is worth trying. There may not be any “scientific proof” but you don’t need it. I’m telling you you will see an improvement in your hair. My hair hair has changed for the better.

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo

This is the last of the products that I won in the giveaway. I always save the best for last.

Today I’m reviewing Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo.

Who’s it for?

Someone who is looking to keep their hair moisturized even after shampooing.

Ingredients

Manuka Honey, Mafura Oil, and Fig Extract are the main ingredients. It also has rice proteins, shea butter, and lead juice as well.

Packaging

The packaging matches the leave in conditioner. Simple gold, deep brown, hint of green lettering, and that lets you know this is an all natural product.

Cost

For a 13 fl oz bottle you will probably spend 13-15 dollars plus tax . Depending where you buy this product. It could be more or less.

Smell 👃

You can smell the sweetness of the honey, fig, and another smell that I can’t pinpoint. It just smells wonderful to me.

First Squeeze

It comes out easily. If you have a heavy hand don’t squeeze to hard.

Consistency

It is the perfect consistency. The shampoo isn’t watery and it isn’t too thick. It stays right in your hand after it comes out.

Final Thoughts

You can feel the moisture from the shampoo as soon as it hits your hair. My hair didn’t tangle during or after the shampooing process. I like how this shampoo is all natural and I like how a little goes a long way.

Even though the cost is on the higher side it is well worth it!

I never used Shea Moisture products before this give away but now I can see why people enjoy their products.

As I Am Moisture Milk Review

Hi all,

Hope that you all are having a great day. As promised, I am back with another review and this time I’m reviewing As I Am Moisture Milk.

Who’s it for?

For curly natural hair.

What does it do?

It is a daily hair revitalizer that helps maintains coils and curl definition.

Ingredients

Cocoa butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, wheat germ oil, sugar beet root, and vitamin E

Packaging

The packaging looks like a bottle of chocolate with hints of gold and burnt orange colors. I like how slender the bottle is because it can fit easily on your shelf.

Cost

For 8fl oz., you are going to spend 11.00 dollars and up. Which isn’t bad because a little goes a long way.

Smell 👃

I’m already a sucker for smells but the smell coming from this product is AMAZING!. The ingredients that I smell the most is sweet almond and cocoa butter.

First Squeeze

It is comes out easily. Make sure that you shake the product up before using because the oil will come out first before the cream.

Consistency

It has a thin to medium, white, creamy consistency. It goes on the hair white but instantly absorbs into your strands.

Final Thoughts

This is great product! It has great slip, dries clear, dries fast, and it is moisturizing. You can use this with your wash n’ go’s, twistouts, braidouts, coils, and the list goes on.

The moisture doesn’t weigh down your hair and you can refresh it by using water.

This is a great daily moisturizer or moisturizer in general.

Overall I would recommend this product to anyone.

Have you used this hair milk before? How was your experience?

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Leave In Conditioner Review

Hi all,

A couple of months back I received some products that I won in a giveaway. I decided to do a review on some of the products.

First up is the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil (Intensive Hydration Milk)Leave In Conditioner.

Who’s it for?

Someone with extremely dry and damaged hair.

Ingredients

Manuka Honey that helps moisturize and add shine.

Mafura Oil that softens and promotes healthy hair growth.

Fig Extract that has an Vitamin C antioxidant and keeps the hair looking vibrant.

*these are some of the main ingredients

Packaging 📦

The one thing that I noticed right away was the packaging. I love the brown and the hint of green lettering. I knew that this was an all natural product by the way it looked.

Smell 👃

The smell is amazing in my opinion. It smells like honey, wood, and flowers mixed together. It has a very sweet smell but it is not overpowering.

Cost

Depending on where you shop it is on the higher end. This product is roughly 10 dollars and up.

First Squeeze

When I opened the bottle and proceeded to squeeze the product out .. I got nothing. I shook it up three times and the product began to come out. This happens every time I use it.

Consistency

This leave in has a paste like consistency. To me it reminds me of a cream that I would use on a twistout. Even though it has good slip it doesn’t absorb into your strands.

I also don’t think it did much for detangling the hair. If you use too much you will have a white film that doesn’t go away on your strands.

Final Thoughts

In comparssion to other leave in conditioners that I’ve used( such as Bella Curls) I think that it is okay.

Overall this is a great product for styling your hair! As far as using it as a leave in I don’t recommend it. I think that the consistency is just too thick and not moisturizing enough for that.

Have you all used this product before and will you use it in the future?

Softee Protein Gel causes flakes?

Hi all,

I recently did a twist out on my hair and I didn’t use the Eco Styling Olive Oil Gel which I normally use. Instead, I used the Softee Protein Gel because I ran out of the Eco Styling Gel.

Normally I use the protein gel only on my edges when I do a slick, low, bun. I will wear that style for a week and it doesn’t flake.

(😂I wasn’t feeling my hair )

I was really shocked to see how much my hair flaked. So I went back and figured out if it was me or the product that caused the flakes.

I moisturized my hair before applying the gel. I used Bella Curls leave-in, Olive Oil, and Coconut Oil. I mixed all of them together and put it on each section. I let it completely air dry.

(This is how it looked before and after)

Now with this gel it says that you can use it on wet or dry hair. It also says that you can style as desired. However, does state that this gel is “perfect” for molding and sculpted styles.

Rules to follow:

#1

I recommend that you retrace your steps. Figure out what you did different. After you do that you can figure out what happened.

#2

Don’t throw your product. Make sure you keep it because you can use it on your hair just not on certain styles. If you can’t you can always give it to a friend or a family member.

Conclusion

So here is where I went wrong. I used leave in conditioner! Anytime I use gel I can’t use creams or leave-ins.

It is okay sometimes to admit when you misused a product or if you did something different in your routine.

I’m going to continue to use the Softee Protein Gel mainly for my buns and edges.

Even though it was my fault I don’t want to risk the chance of my hair flaking again.☺

Have you had this type of experience before? Did you blame it on the product? Let me know?
