I won a “Beauty” giveaway

Hi all,

I recently won a beauty giveaway in which I was pleasantly surprised. Mainly because I never win anything! I won by default but hey it counts.

I can’t wait to try these products out and see if they work on me.

Gift 1

The first thing that my eye was drawn to was the eyelash curler. I like the color, it also looks sturdy and easy to use.

Gift 2

The falsies(fake eyelashes) are very long. Definitely a night time sexy look. It also includes the glue as well.

Gift 3

I received this cute little change purse or you can use it to store your lippes as well. It is super cute.

Gift 4

Now if you wear mascara as much as I do you would probably be happy to see this. It is a eyeliner marker that you never have to sharpen. The color is black ×3.

Gift 5

I thought these glasses were pretty cool. They kind of remind of the prescription 👓 glasses by Firmoo but these are shades of course. They are light weight and it doesn’t leave marks under the eye.

Gift 6

I also got a new makeup brush set. They came in different sizes and I can’t wait to try them out. I don’t know what brand they are unfortunately.

Gift 7

E.l.f. usually has some great products but this liquid eyeshadow isn’t one of them. I barely got any of it out of the tube and it doesn’t go on to well on the eyelid. However, I can always find out a different way to use it.

Gift 8

This is a sample moisturizer from a French based company. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure that it works well.

I would mention who I won this giveaway from but she wants to remain anonymous. I will keep you all posted on these products and let you know if and when I try them out.

Have you ever won a giveaway? If so, when, and what did you win?

How to get rid of the “crunchy” feeling from gel

Hi all,

I finally found a way to make my hair soft and stay moisturized. Don’t worry it doesn’t compromise the definition or the hold that gel usually gives to your hair.

Step1

Start out on freshly washed hair.

Step 2

Seperate your hair into four sections.

Step 3

Mist your first section with water if it is no longer damp.Apply leave in conditioner and an oil of your choice.

Step 4

Let your hair completely air dry or dry with a hair dryer.

Step 4

Apply gel lightly to each section.

Step 5

Do not touch your hair and let it completely dry.

I have done this method faithfully for 2 months now and I haven’t experienced any hardness.

How do you prevent hardness or crunchy hair with gel? Or have you tried this method already?

My “New” Wash Day Routine

Hi all,

I changed my wash day routine because I felt like my hair wasn’t benefiting from my previous routine. I wanted to try more natural ways to cleansing and moisturizing my hair with so here is what I came up with.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

images (43)

I do this first so that  I can get rid of any buildup and also to prevent my scalp from getting irritated.

Daily Defense Argan Oil Shampoo

download (48)

I use this Shampoo simply to cleanse the ends of my hair to get rid of any residue. I don’t shampoo my scalp because the rinse already got rid of the buildup.

Rice Water Rinse

I make my own rice water rinse and I use this everytime I shampoo. This helps with detangling my hair, softening , and growth.

Deep Conditioner and Olive Oil

I heat up both the deep conditioner and hot oil in a container of hot water. I like to heat it up because I feel that it penetrates the hair a lot better. I  use a plastic cap and let it sit on my hair for 15 minutes.

After I rinse my deep conditioner out I detangle my hair with a wide tooth comb and style as usual. (moisturize doing the L.O.C method)

My hair has changed a lot from doing this wash day. It is thicker, stronger, shinier, and it growing faster than normal.

Makeup Look for Beginners

Hi all,

I know that I’ve been gone for a minute but life gets in the way sometimes.

Valentine’s Day is coming up. It is usually the time where we dress to impress and show extra love to someone.

I decided to come up with a makeup look that is easy for beginners and affordable as well.

The palette that I chose was Eclipse. This palette works really well on darker skin tones, the colors are vibrant, and a little goes a long way.

Step 1

Mix concealer and moisturizer together for light coverage. It gives your face a skinlike. finish. You can apply it with your fingers or a brush. ( make sure your skin is clean first before applying makeup)

Step 2

Apply a light colored concealer to make the eyeshadow really pop. I used a concealer stick.

Step 3

Pick out whatever color you like out of your palette. I chose pink and purple. Apply the lighter color on the lid and the darker color on the outer lid. You can apply with your fingers or a brush.

Step 4

Take your bronzer and apply lightly all over your face for a nice glow. A highlighter brush is needed.

Step 5

Apply lipstick or lip gloss. I used a plum lip color. Make sure your lips are well moisturized before applying your lippie.

Optional**

You can use mascara to elongate your eyelashes or you can use falsies.

What people say say about me and my natural hair

It is always interesting to hear what people say about me in general. However, when it comes to my natural hair it gets pretty interesting and odd. I almost feel like some people are uncomfortable with my hair being natural and they just don’t know how to say it.

Let give you some examples.

  1. You are really brave for having natural hair.
  2. Natural hair doesn’t look good on me but it definitely looks good on you.
  3. Natural hair is more your style.
  4. Your hair looks frizzy froish(I know that’s not a word) but in a good way.
  5. So how do you wear your hair when you want to go out?
  6. So what kind of look were you trying to go for?
  7. I could never go out the house like that because I feel like it needs to be more presentable.
  8. Can I touch it?
  9. It looks so kinky but it is soft. I’m surprised!
  10. How does your family, friends, or boyfriend feel about your hair? I know they don’t like it.
  11. You know you can texturize your hair and it would look better. You could do more things with it.
  12. Power to the people.
  13. Yeah natural hair is making a comeback. Looks good but I like the creamy crack.
  14. I bet you are really smart because most natural girls are.
  15. Are you a natural hair Nazi?
  16. Are you mixed?
  17. I don’t see how you wear your hair out like that. My hair is natural but I wear protective styles all year long.
  18. The climate won’t allow my hair to be natural but somehow you pulled it off
  19. Don’t you get tired of being natural?
  20. Men like long hair that they can rub their fingers through but kudos to you for rocking your natural hair.
  21. You can’t wear weave if you are natural.

Logopit_1515110509143

That is just to name a few examples but I really could go on for days. It really shows me that although it is “trendy” to wear you natural hair that we still have a long way to go. There are too many stereotypes about wearing your natural textured hair that it is mind blowing.

The same stereotypes apply to having relaxed hair and wearing extensions (weave).

We just need to be mindful when it comes to approaching people with a hairstyle or texture that you we wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing. (Chemically treated or not)

We also need to respect the fact that we are not going to have the same views when it comes to natural hair or hair in general.

Even though it gets crazy sometimes with all of the questions about my hair… I still love ME AND MY NATURAL HAIR !!

How have people stereotyped you because of your hair? Let me know.

How to find your “New” hair regimen

Hi to all of you,

I’m trying to find my new hair regimen for this year and I want to definitely stick to it. I find that I tell everyone to stick to what works  their hair and I don’t do it myself. So I came up with at least 5 simple goals that I found helpful to help me achieve my final goal.

This is short and sweet because I explain everything in the video below. Let me know if you already have a hair regimen that works for you and if you’re going to change anything.

Too busy for makeup?

Hi,

I hope that all of you are having a great day. There is already not enough time in a day so so I don’t like to waste it. I really like the look of a full face of makeup but I refuse to spend 45 minutes applying makeup to my face.

Since I work in the beauty industry however, you have to “look” the part.

I came up with a everyday routine under 10 mins that is really easy to do. Also, this look can go from day to night. Just simply add more eyeshadow, change the lip color, and highlight your cheeks.

Please click on this link to see what I mean 🙂
